How to change the Workgroup Name in Windows XP
Networking two machines together for file sharing typically requires both machines to be on the same Workgroup. This guide will show how to change the Workgroup name in Windows XP.
- Click Start.
- Right click on My Computer and select Properties.
- Select the Computer Name tab.
- Click the Change button.
- Type the new Workgroup name and click OK.
- Click OK on the two confirmation windows.
- Reboot the computer.
