How to hide a Windows Update on Windows 7

Description: This is how to turn off a Windows update on Windows 7 that the user does not want downloaded or installed.

  1. Go to Start and click on Control Panel.

  2. Choose the option for System and Security.

  3. Click on the option that says Windows Update.

  4. Click on one of the links for updates as shown below.

  5. Right click on the update you want to hide and click Hide Update.
