Q: What is Raspberry Pi?
A: Raspberry Pi is, in short, a computer. A small, versatile computer that can be fitted and built up into different purposes based on your needs.

Q: What can I do with Raspberry Pi?
A: As with any computer, it can be used for different purposes, often used for coding, programming, portable work, gaming and more.

Q: What do I need to use Raspberry Pi?
A: Along with the base Raspberry Pi project board, it is recommended you get an official power supply and a microSD card. The microSD card will be needed for the OS to be installed, allowing it to run on its own with a display.

Q: Will I need or want anything else with it?
A: Depending on what you are looking for, there are a variety of different items including peripherals such as a mouse and keyboard, camera attachments, different cases, and more.

Q: What OS does Raspberry Pi run?
A: While there are different ones available, the official OS that Raspberry Pi uses is the Raspbian OS.

Q: What models of Raspberry Pi are available?
A: In total there are at least 12 different models currently or recently available. Micro Center carries most of these models, excluding the older models A+ and B+.

Q: Can Raspberry Pi replace my desktop computer?
A: For a simple desktop for items like network, email and word processing, it can be a viable option. One thing to keep in mind is that internet browsers take up a lot of memory and can be slow for most models. The Raspberry Pi 4 Model B can go up to 4GB and would be the best suited option.

Q: Can I add RAM to my Raspberry Pi for more memory?
A: No, the way they are designed they do not have the option for adding memory after purchase. What comes with the model is all it will be able to have.

Q: Can Raspberry Pi overclock?
A: This depends on the model of Raspberry Pi that you have. Pi 1 Models A, A+, B and B+ will normally run at 700MHz, they can run up to 800MHz without issue. The Raspberry Pi Model B normally runs at 900MHz but can go up to 1000MHz without issue. Any other models do not have overclocking capabilities.

Q: At what temperature can Raspberry Pi operate?
A: The board is labeled as working between 0 degrees C and 70 degrees C while the SoC chip on it works between -45 degrees C and 80 degrees C. They can possibly work outside of these ranges, but you will see increasing instability with performance.
