How to troubleshoot USB not working on Raspberry Pi

  1. Ensure the Raspberry Pi is getting enough power.
  2. Test the USB device with another computer to see if it is faulty.
  3. Ensure the USB device driver is compatible with Linux based operating systems. This can often be found or confirmed on the manufacturer’s website.
  4. Check to make sure the USB device is detected by the Raspberry Pi. Run this command from terminal: lsusb –t
  5. If all else fails, update your Raspberry Pi OS.
