How to enable Speech Recognition on your Mac OS computer

Description: This article describes the processes of enabling the speech recognition feature of your Mac OS computer.

  1. Click the Apple Icon at the top left of the Finder Bar on your computer.


  2. Click System Preferences.


  3. Click Speech.


  4. Select the On Button next to Speakable Items.



    • The Speech Recognition Controller will appear.


  5. Click the Settings Button and select the Microphone and Listening Method you would like to use.


  6. Begin using Speech Recognition with the method you selected in the previous step.
