How to change Vertical Cell Alignment in Excel 2010

Description: This article describes how to change vertical cell alignment in Excel 2010.

  1. To change the vertical cell alignment in Excel 2010, click on the Home tab.
  2. Click the Top Align button to align text to the top of the cell.
  3. Click the Middle Align button to align text to the middle of the cell.
  4. Click the Bottom Align button to align text to the bottom of the cell.
  5. Another way to get to these and other advanced options is to click on the small box in the corner of the Alignment category of tools.
  6. The second dropdown list contains these same alignment options.
  7. In addition, this dialog box provides a fourth option called Distributed.
  8. The Distributed option distributes text evenly in a vertical fashion within the cell.
