How to end an Unresponsive Program using Task Manager in Windows 7

Description: This article will show you how to close a program that is not responding in Windows 7 using the Task Manager.

  1. Right click on the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop and select Start Task Manager from the menu.

  2. When Task manager opens, click on the Applications tab.

  3. Find the non-responsive application, right click then select and click on End Task from the menu.

  4. If an End Program dialog box comes up click on End Now.
