How to enable or disable the Do Not Track (DNT) setting in Internet Explorer 10

Description: The Do Not Track header sends a signal to websites that you prefer not to have information collected about your visit used to track you as you browse the web. How the sites you visit choose to respond or interpret Do Not Track requests is subject to those sites' privacy practices. Although usually on by default in IE10, this article will show you where to go to either enable or disable this feature.

  1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking on the icon on the start menu or desktop.
  2. Click on the Gear icon towards the upper right of the IE window.
  3. Select Internet Options from the menu.
  4. When the Internet Options window opens click on the Advanced Tab.
  5. Scroll down until you see the Security section. Check or uncheck the selection entitled Always send Do Not Track Header to either enable or disable the feature.
  6. Click OK to close the window.
