Description: This is a brief description of notable differences between Word 2013 and previous versions of Word.

Read Mode:
In Word 2013 the Read mode is cleaner with only options like Define, Translate, and Search on Web. Also, if the user closes a document part-way through, Word will go to the same point the next time that document is opened.

Inserted Items:
Inserted items now have new tools that allow the user to align and resize charts, pictures, and other items.

Object Zoom:
There is now an Object Zoom feature which, with a double-click or tap, zooms in on an image or other inserted item to fill the whole screen. A single click or tap it returns the object to the normal view again.

Videos and Pictures:
Videos and pictures can now be inserted directly into Word documents from the internet for faster and easier access.

Saving to the Cloud:
Word documents can now be saved directly to the Cloud through Microsoft’s SkyDrive. See our article on microcentertech.com for more information on this feature.

Markup:
Simple Markup is a cleaner version of the older markup system which allows suggestions and revision marks to be made on documents as they are shared with multiple users such as through the SkyDrive. Users can also now reply to comments made by others.

PDFs:
Word 2013 can now open, create, and edit PDF documents.

Templates:
New templates have been added for faster access to the formats the user desires including basics like spacing changes, and others like creating greeting cards and fliers.
