Description: How to run Windows Update in Windows 8 from the desktop.

  1. Move your mouse into the bottom right hand corner of your screen. A blue box that says Start will pop up. Right click and select Control Panel.

  2. Select System and Security and then Windows Updates.

  3. Select Check for updates.

  4. Check the update you wish to install and hit Install. This may take a few minutes and may require a restart.

  5. The updates will finish and it is done.
