Description: This is a guide on how to change Windows Updates to manual or off while using Windows 8.

1. From the Start Screen click on the Desktop tile.
   
2. Right click on the Action Center Flag on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
   
3. Click on Open Windows Updates.
   
4. Click Change Settings.
   
5. Under Important updates click the dropdown box and choose the preferred method.
   
6. If you only want Important Updates and not Recommended uncheck the box under Recommended Updates.
   
7. Click OK.
