How to release and renew your IP Address in Windows 8

Description: This article will show you how to release and renew your IP address in Windows 8.

  1. Hold down the Windows key and the letter X and open Command Prompt (Admin).

  2. Type ipconfig /release.

  3. When you receive the following information you will know you typed the command in correctly.

  4. Now type in ipconfig /renew.

  5. Once you receive the following information, your computer's ip address will have been renewed.
