How to display the Battery Icon on the Menu Bar in OS X

Description: This technical article will show how to display the battery icon on the menu bar in OS X.

  1. First go to the Apple icon and choose System Preferences.

  2. Next choose Energy Saver under System Preferences.

  3. Check the box that says show battery status in menu bar.

  4. The battery icon will now display on the menu bar. Note: if you want to display the battery percentage you will need to take one more step. Click on the newly created battery icon on the menu bar and choose show percentage.
