Understanding system tab settings for a WinBook PCI DVR card

Description: This article will help you understand the various system setting options when using the JDVR program with your WinBook PCI DVR card.

  1. In the JDVR program, click System.
  2. Click on the System tab.
  3. The settings are as follows:
    • Enable night mode – Allows you to change to night mode between two specific times.
    • Run surveillance system when computer is turned on – Allows the JDVR software to start when your computer turns on. (this should be enabled for when automatic restarts are enabled)
    • Shut down computer when exiting surveillance system – Enable this setting if you don’t want anyone on your computer outside of the JDVR system,
    • Scheduled Restart – Restarting and reloading the JDVR aids system operation as over time a computer’s RAM (Memory) could fill up and cause issues
    • Lock system if it’s left unoperated – If the system is idle, the JDVR system will lock itself after a set time.
    • Disable CTRL+ALT+DEL – Prevents CTRL+ALT+DEL from being initiated on the keyboard.
    • Web Service, Services Port – Setting the Services port for remote access to the program. 
    • Customize UDP Port- Required for remote access, User Datagram Protocol allows for transmission of messages between the remote and host.
    • Customize TCP Port – Required for remote access, Transmission Control Protocol provides reliable, ordered, error-checked delivery of a stream of octets between programs running on computers connected to a local area network, intranet or the public Internet.
    • Enable Channel Dragging – Allows you move the positions of the channels on the screen.
    • Enable Mobile Viewing – Allow for remote viewing on mobile devices such as phones and tables.
