How to set up Port Forwarding on the Tenda W316R Router

Description: This article will show how to configure port forwarding for devices and services with the Tenda W316R Wireless Router.

  1. After going through the initial setup utility using the disc provided, access the router’s firmware interface by opening up a web browser. In the address bar, type 192.168.0.1 and then press enter. This will load a page like the screen below. Click Advanced Settings.

  2. On the Advanced Settings page, click Virtual server as shown in the picture below.

  3. The Port Range Forwarding screen will now be loaded in your browser window. Enter the port range that will be forwarded by the router. This example is using port 22 which is the default for the SSH protocol.

  4. Fill in the local IP address for the device running the service. This can be obtained using the ipconfig utility in Windows or the ifconfig utility on Mac OS X/Linux.

  5. Click the tick-box under the Enabled column to enable forwarding.

  6. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and then click OK.
