Description: The PowerSpec G425 Build 1 and G416 Build 1 BIOS Update has been released to prevent possible No POST issues. The PowerSpec G425 and G416 shipped with BIOS version T1.32C. PowerSpec has found that if the system enters sleep (S3) with Windows 10, the system may not POST and customers may encounter a 00 error on the mainboard. PowerSpec has released BIOS version P1.90A to prevent and correct this potential problem.

This BIOS update applies only to the G425 and G416 Build 1 systems. If you have Build 2 or greater, (any system manufactured after 1/2/16), this update has already been applied and is not required.

Before Beginning: Download the BIOS file Z17GMI61.90A (16MB), and copy it to the root directory of a USB flash drive that is formatted in FAT32. Do not change the name of the file, or the process will not work correctly.

Updating the BIOS on a properly running system:

1. Insert the thumb drive that contains the BIOS file into any USB port.
2. Start the system and press the F6 Function Key to enter the Instant Flash mode.
3. Select the BIOS labeled Z17GMI61.90A and click Flash.
4. The BIOS will flash. Do not turn off or reboot the system during this process!
5. When the flash process is complete, reboot the system and enter the BIOS by tapping the Delete Key.
6. Tap the F6 Function Key to enter advanced mode.
7. Select Tools and then select Secure Backup (A->B).
8. Select Yes and the system will reboot and update the secondary BIOS.
