How to display or hide the Status Bar Name in OS X El Capitan

Description: This article will show how to display or hide your name from the status bar at the top right of your screen in Mac OS X El Capitan.

  1. Click on the Apple Logo at the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.

  2. Choose Users & Groups.

  3. Click on Login Options and then click on the Lock icon at the bottom left of the screen.

  4. Put a check mark next to Show fast user switching menu to display the name or uncheck to hide the name.
