Resident Evil Requiem: What PC Specs Do You Need to Run the Game?
The only thing scarier than a new Resident Evil game is not having the hardware to run it.News
Eventually you’d think people would stop returning to Raccoon City. But as we’ve got a new Resident Evil game set in that fictional metropolis, I suppose someone has to. The ninth mainline title, Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on consoles and PC on February 27th. And, with everyone’s favorite round-house-kicking monster killer, Leon Kennedy, making a return, Requiem is sure to be a spooky good time.

However, you might have noticed that Resident Evil Requiem is a very good looking game, and that might have you worried about your own computer’s ability to run Capcom’s latest. We’ve got the specs on hand as well as some upgrade recommendations, so let’s answer the question:
Can My Computer Run Resident Evil: Requiem?
Minimum Specs
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 11 (64bit required)
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce GTX 1660 6GB / Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB
- DirectX: Version 12
Unlike a lot of more recent games, Requiem does not require a card that supports ray tracing. Both the minimum GPU and CPUs are a few generations old, but were pretty decent for their generation. If you built or bought your PC in the past five years or so, you’re probably good to run RE: Requiem. If your computer is a bit older, you might want to check the specs; be sure to note the 6GB of memory minimum for GPUs and 16GB RAM minimum.
Recommended Specs
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 11 (64bit required)
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 5 5500
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: GeForce RTX 2060 Super 8GB / Radeon RX 6600 8GB
- DirectX: Version 12
A bit higher but still nothing too intimidating, the recommended specs include the RTX 2060, a three-generation-old GPU, but, importantly, one that enables ray tracing. As with the minimum specs, if you’ve built your computer in the past five years or so, you’re probably good to run Requiem, but double check to make sure you meet the minimum requirements for system and GPU memory.
Best computers to run Resident Evil: Requiem
Normally we’d recommend a few computers that meet the criteria for minimum and recommended specs. However, even our most basic gaming laptop and desktop recommendations are generations beyond the minimum and recommended specs, so think of these as good/better/best suggestions.
