Dell G16 7620 16.0" Gaming Laptop By @TreBouncee
It is always gaming season. Whether you’re heading back to school or just looking for a mid-year upgrade, Micro Center has you covered with a wide range of gaming laptops that excel in both work and play. Take, for example, the Dell G16 7620 16.0". The G16 is a budget-friendly machine that can not only handle the day-to-day grind but also allow you game to game a reasonably high level.
The G16 features an Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, 1TB of storage, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 with 6GB of dedicated GDDR6 RAM. Starting with the processor, the 12700H is a great chip. The six Performance Cores and the 8 Efficiency Cores should make even intense work a breeze. Just as in years past, the “H” series chip from Intel is their performance chip, signifying that computers that feature this chip are geared for high-intensity tasks. Backing that up is the GeForce RTX 3060, a low-key powerhouse. That card allows this “budget” computer to play some of the most graphically intense titles such as Red Dead Redemption, GTA V, and Far Cry 6. Beyond the GPU and CPU, the G16 comes with two sticks of DDR5-4800 ram and a 2280-sized 1TB. Both of those parts are removable and upgradable, which is a great way to extend the life of your laptop even further.
All these parts come in a 16-inch body with a 2560 x 1440 screen featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio to give the user a bit more real estate while maintaining clarity. Dell included a Thunderbolt 4 port as well three USB A ports, an HDMI 2.1, RJ-45, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
From the 2K display or the 12700H to the 3060 and expandable parts, the G16 checks a lot of boxes and is something I’m comfortable recommending for anyway looking to game as well as do high-intensity work.
